Town have begun talks with manager Jim Magilton regarding his new contract. On Saturday TWTD reported that the Blues boss would be offered a new deal to extend his stay beyond the end of his current contract which is up at the end of this season.

Town are set to hand new signing David Wright his debut at Sunderland on Saturday. Full-back Wright signed a three-and-a-half-year deal on Thursday after the Blues and Wigan agreed an undisclosed fee thought to be in the region of £200,000.

New Town manager Jim Magilton pledged that he and first team coach Bryan Klug would bring back the Ipswich style after being unveiled at Monday morning's press conference at Portman Road. The duo have signed two-year contracts in their new positions with Tony Humes taking over as academy manager.

Town's reserves were defeated 2-0 by Fulham at Portman Road on Tuesday evening. An own goal from Kevin Horlock and a 22nd minute strike from Yinka Casal were enough to give the Cottagers victory.

Town got back to winning ways as Plymouth were comfortably defeated 3-1. Jay McEveley opened the scoring with his first goal for the Blues, Jimmy Juan adding a second before the break. In the second half, Akos Buzsaky pulled one back from a freekick before Matt Richards settled it with a penalty.

Two second half goals from Darren Currie took the Blues to a deserved 2-1 win over Plymouth Argyle, one of his former clubs. With Tommy Miller substituted, Currie took responsibility from the spot and netted a second not long after. Mickey Evans pulled one back not long after Currie's second.

Town got back to winning ways with a mainly comfortable 3-1 victory over Bradford. A Shefki Kuqi stunner put the Blues ahead before a not uncharacteristic defensive howler gifted Bradford an equaliser. Ian Westlake scored almost immediately and Darren Bent added a third in the second half.
